    Jayson Jaynes headshotJayson Jaynes (Chaz)
    Jayson studied film and photography at California College of Arts in Oakland, California, and is an avid art collector. Skinnyfat is Jayson’s first starring role. He says, “The more I looked into the serious issues of body image in LGBT culture, I wanted to take my character in a really subversive direction; to make him a bit of a satirical monster.” Jayson also acted as Associate Producer of the film, see Crew listing below for more details.

    Evan Johnson headshotEvan Johnson (Davy)
    Evan is a graduate of The Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre. He has taught clowning workshops, worked with developmentally disabled adults and acted in theatre productions of The Shape of Things, Beyond Therapy and Angels in America: Millennium Approaches. Evan also performs regularly as his character Martha T. Lipton, the failed actress. His self-penned stage show Don’t Feel: The Death of Dahmer enjoyed a critically-acclaimed run at Mama Calizo’s Voice Factory.

    Ed Deleski headshotEd Deleski (Kevin)
    Ed is an active Ford Model and has appeared in a number of lead rolls in both sitcom pilots and short films. As a supporter of GLADD, Ed seeks roles and productions that help advance positive images of Gay and Lesbian characters on film. He says, “Skinnyfat’s humorous approach to the issues of body image in the gay community was a welcomed addition to my resume. Kevin’s character reminded me of a number of my friends. The eat-sleep gym culture is as hilarious as it is fascinating.”

    Delia Wolfe headshotDelia Wolfe (Grace Landers)
    A veteran actor and dancer in the Michigan Community Theatre, Delia hoofed and howled forty years ago in productions like King and I, South Pacific, Wildcat and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. A recent transplant to the Bay Area, she makes her film debut in Skinnyfat. Delia has since appeared in a PSA for Union Bank.

    Adam performed in his first play at the age of three. After studying and graduating with a Film and Television degree at San Diego State University, Adam moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career where he studied with industries leaders Ivanna Chubbuck, Larry Moss, and the Groundlings Studio. Adam has enjoyed roles in several independent films and commercials, most notably as the official spokesperson for Scion cars. Currently, Adam is producing two feature films.

    Keith’s creative outlets include scriptwriting and live theatre performances at Burning Man, most famously The American Ream, a political satire that was featured in “Out” magazine. Keith enjoys both comedic parts and the artistic challenge of roles from which he iassures us he is very different.

    Kevin grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and was gradutated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.A. in journalism. He worked for 20 years in the classical music industry, including with the New York Philharmonic and London/Decca Records. As an actor, Kevin has appeared on stage (Angels in America – Milennium Approaches, The Art of Dining and Gross Indcency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde) and in a number of films (Blood Loss, Darker Every Day, The Lonely, Political Animals, Impulsion).

    Dyan has appeared in numerous film and televisions series, including Ron Howards’ Ed TV, Flubber,What Dreams May Come, More Tales of the City and Nash Bridges. She has also appeared in commercials, industrial videos and music videos for the likes of Third Eye Blind and even Michael Jackson!

    Irvin hails from Oregon and is proud to call Skinnyfat his first notable acting experience. He has always appreciated film production and enjoyed his time on the set. He is currently a resident of San Francisco and enjoys bocce ball.

    Brian Vanderpol headshotBrian Vanderpol (Bear #1)
    Brian was raised in Stockton, CA. He studied acting full time at San Francisco State University with Barbara Damashek, student of Stella Adler, and graced the stage with roles in City of Angels, The Goat, Who is Sylvia? as well as the title character in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.   Brian also played a key role in the crew.  See listing below for details.

    Scott Robertson headshotScott Robertson (Bear #2)
    Scott hails from Stamford, CT and studied film and theater arts at Western Connecticut State University. He has preformed stand-up and sketch comedy and is currently a writer/performer for the web-show Recession America. Scott was drawn to Skinnyfat by the producers’ gutsy dealings with body image mixed with their grand sense of dark humor. The part of Bear #2 provided Scott an opportunity to play what he loves best—comic relief pinch hitter.

    Lori was raised less than a mile from the Mississippi River in Iowa. She got involved in film and theatre after moving to Sacramento in 1996, enjoying gigs in commercials, videos, print and voiceover jobs. Skinnyfat is her first film project. She says, “I was drawn to this project because of the tongue-in-cheek humor directed at our culture’s obsession with body image. As the mother of two young girls I am concerned with the messages that my girls are getting about their bodies and try to instill in them a healthy and realistic perspective on body image.”

    Athena Galvin headshotAthena Galvin (Clinician #2)
    Athena is an artist living in New York.  Born in Seattle, WA, she took full advantage of the creative opportunities around her and engulfed herself in music, writing and art from an early age.  At age 11, Athena discovered the joy of playing in an orchestra and fell in love with performing music as part of a group.   As time went on this love of performing branched out to singing, acting, modeling and, most recently, dance.

    Andy Bydalek (Writer, Producer, Director, Editor)

    Andy grew up in cities across the US, including Colorado Springs, Honolulu, San Antonio and Austin. Now based in San Francisco, he has written, produced, and directed short films that have played in festivals across the U.S. and in Europe, including the San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival.  He has also created promotional videos for Bay Area clients such as the award-winning Performing Arts Workshop.  With a focus on issues that affect the LGBT community, Andy combines insightful perspective, a clear narrative voice and compelling visuals to produce unique works that entertain and provoke thought. Previous works include:  The 911 Salon, daMNaged and Haunted.

    Jayson Jaynes (Associate Producer)

    In addition to playing the lead character who hula hoops, binges and vomits his way through Skinnyfat, Jayson did double duty assisting in almost every area of production:  from casting and graphic design to continuity checks. Ever the trooper, he even offered his home for both production headquarters and multiple location shoots. After production wrapped, he was on hand to assist with editing decisions, event planning and promotions.

    Chris Forbes (Associate Producer)

    Chris studied photography, art history and Italian cinema in both the US and Rome.  In 1998 he had his first solo exhibition in Philadelphia followed by a national group exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum. His photographs have been published in books and magazines, both international and national, including Photographer’s Forum (USA), YGA (USA), SPOT (Mexico), and Vogue Nippon (Japan).  Skinnyfat marks his first production role.  He assisted with locations, managing the wardrobe selection, acting as script supervisor and generally handling any task thrown his way at a moment’s notice.

    Nils Myers (Cinematographer)

    Nils was born and raised in Downey, California and studied film at California State University.  A dedicated team member, Nils was always first on set and last to leave, driving 90 miles each way from Gilroy and loading/unloading tons of camera and lighting equipment. With partner Mattock Scariot, Nils has produced two indie features and numerous shorts and industrial/corporate videos. He is currently writing a feature film.

    Brian Vanderpol (Assistant Camera/Light/Sound)

    While studying film-making at SFSU, Brian was asked by Skinnyfat crew member Jacob Conger to fill in for a crew position on the second day of shooting.  Lucky for us, Brian is talented in front of and behind the lens!  He stuck with us for the remainder of the shoot, proving much needed assistance with camera, lighting, sound and even editing advice.

    Jacob Conger (Assistant Camera/Light/Sound)

    At the young age of four, Jacob and his twin brother played a role in Francis Ford Coppola’s film Tucker: the Man and His Dream.  Jacob later played leads in high school plays such as Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, then studied film production at San Francisco State University where he focused on lighting and sound.  He has worked with clients such as Paul Mitchell and BJ Penn and on numerous features, shorts, commercials, and webisodes.

    Sam Miller (Sound Recording)

    Sam studied audio recording and graphic design at San Francisco State university. Since graduating, he has worked on a variety of audio, print and video projects in the commercial production world.

    Nathan Booth (Craft Services, Set Dressing)

    Nate was born in southern California and studied theater, painting, graphic design, drafting, illustration, and martial arts. He has acted in nine plays and three films, including Daybreak Berlin by Laura Bialis.  He served on the crew in eight other film and video projects, and produced two television commercials for the Travel Channel. He is currently working on his architecture degree.
